Jamalpur:An elderly woman and her daughter-in-law lost their lives in a tragic road accident on the Dhaka-Bakshiganj highway in Bakshiganj upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the victims were identified as Ufeja Begum, 65, and Farida Begum, 40. They were residents of Thakurpara village in the upazila and were killed when a Dhaka-bound passenger bus heading towards Roumari ran them over as they stood beside the road talking at around 6 am.
Police confirmed that both women died on the spot. Officer-in-Charge of Bakshiganj Police Station Makbul Hossain verified the incident, stating that the bus along with its helper has been detained, and further actions are being taken.
