Dhaka:KOICA Bangladesh, in collaboration with the KOICA Bangladesh Alumni Association (KBAA), hosted Alumni Night 2026 at Sheraton Dhaka. The event aimed to emphasize the institutional impact of Korean training programs by bringing together alumni, senior government officials, representatives from South Korea, and development partners.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the event was graced by the presence of State Minister for Planning Zonayed Abdur Rahim Saki as the chief guest, and the South Korean Ambassador to Bangladesh, Kim Ji-joon, as a distinguished guest. KOICA Bangladesh Country Director Jihoon Kim led the proceedings.
Minister Saki praised KBAA for its role in disseminating knowledge acquired through training in Korea, which is instrumental in strengthening the Korea-Bangladesh partnership. Ambassador Kim Ji-joon described KOICA alumni as "living bridges" between the two nations, expressing optimism about the network's growing strength.
Jihoon Kim highlighted that Korea's development cooperation extends beyond the training programs, as the knowledge alumni transfer back to their institutions ensures enduring cooperation. The event showcased the practical application of KOICA alumni training in various institutions and their knowledge-sharing efforts with government colleagues and young people.
The programme was supported by KBAA's Executive Committee, which includes President Md Saifullah Panna, Vice President Nazma Mobarek, and General Secretary Md Forhad Siddique. This committee played a key role in facilitating alumni participation and engagement.
The evening also acknowledged the support of government counterparts and development partners in fostering KOICA's cooperation and enhancing the alumni network.
