Parliamentary Committee Recommends Prioritizing Vacant Posts in Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry

Dhaka:The first meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry emphasized the urgent need to fill vacant positions within the ministry and its associated agencies. This recommendation aims to bolster the country's aviation and tourism sectors.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the meeting was chaired by Abul Kalam Azad Siddiqui at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban. The committee highlighted the importance of adhering to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's 'Bangladesh First' policy and maintaining a zero-tolerance stance on corruption.

During the session, the committee stressed the need for transparency, accountability, and coordination in the ministry's operations to ensure institutions remain free from corruption. Presentations were made on the activities of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Bangladesh Tourism Board, and Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation, focusing on developing Bangladesh as a significant aviation hub and appealing tourism destination.

The committee requested a detailed report on the implementation status of current initiatives and the existing vacancies. It also advised that efforts be intensified to fill these positions promptly. The committee encouraged the ministry and its agencies to collaborate effectively, aiming to create a modern, safe, and internationally recognized aviation and tourism sector, while adhering to the principle of working honestly and dedicatedly for national development.

Abul Kalam Azad Siddiqui concluded the meeting by expressing gratitude to all participants for their cooperation in facilitating the committee's activities.
