President Pledges Support for Quran Education and Honoring International Winners

Dhaka:President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the government's commitment to promoting Quran education and honoring Quran Hafez and students who have excelled on the international stage.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the President made these remarks during a courtesy call by winners of the 46th King Abdul Aziz International Holy Quran Competition at Bangabhaban. He congratulated the winning contestants, their teachers, and guardians, highlighting the pride and joy brought to the nation by their success against competitors from 133 countries.

The President reiterated the government's dedication to enhancing religious education, recalling initiatives by Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia to support religious practices and institutions. The visiting contestants expressed gratitude to the President for the invitation and called for further initiatives to honor Hafez who have brought international recognition to Bangladesh.

The delegation, led by Quran Education Mission, Bangladesh Chairman Maulana Md. Billal Hossain, included notable winners such as Hafez Mohammad Zakaria and Hafeza Rabeta Binte Ramzan. During the meeting, the President presented crests and gifts to the winners and their families, with secretaries and senior officials in attendance.
