Dhaka:Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today participated in a significant meeting focused on the management of public transport in Dhaka city. The meeting took place at the Cabinet Division of the Bangladesh Secretariat with the Prime Minister presiding.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting was attended by several high-ranking officials including Road Transport and Bridges Minister Shaikh Rabiul Alam, State Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam, and State Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Habibur Rashid. Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister ABM Abdus Sattar, Local Government Division Secretary Md. Shahidul Hassan, Executive Director of Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority (DTCA) Mohammad Mashiur Rahman, Road Transport and Highways Division Secretary Dr Mohammed Ziaul Haque, and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Mosleh Uddin Ahmed were also present.
The meeting is addressing various issues related to the management of Dhaka's public transport, focusing on ensuring road safety and resolving existing disarray within the public transport system.
