Dhaka:The country has witnessed a significant increase in remittance inflow, with a 13.1 percent rise to $9.366 billion during the period from July 2026 to October 7, compared to the same timeframe in the previous fiscal year.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the latest data from Bangladesh Bank indicates that during the equivalent period last fiscal year, remittances amounted to $8.278 billion.
In the first week of October alone, expatriate Bangladeshis sent $774 million, showing an 11.8 percent increase from the $692 million remitted during the same period in 2025. Specifically, on October 7, the inflow was recorded at $129 million.
This continued growth in remittances is bolstering the country's foreign exchange reserves and contributing to the stability of its external sector. It also enhances the flow of foreign currency through official banking channels.
