Naogaon:An eight-year-old boy tragically lost his life after being struck by lightning in the Raypur Parer Ghat area of Atrai upazila this afternoon.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the boy, identified as Rohan Islam, was returning home from Bhabanipur Bazar when a sudden storm with heavy rain and thunder swept through the area. As he reached Raypur Parer Ghat, he was struck by lightning and suffered critical injuries.
Rohan, son of Jamirul Islam from Raypur Madhyapara village under Kalikapur union, died on the way to the hospital. The incident has been confirmed by Officer-in-Charge Md Mahabub Alam of Atrai Police Station.
