Dhaka:Four additional children have died with symptoms of measles across the country within the past 24 hours, starting from 8 am on Wednesday. This has increased the total number of deaths from suspected measles to 1,040 since March 15, 2026, as reported by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, No deaths from confirmed measles were recorded in the last 24 hours. However, the number of fatalities from confirmed measles between March 15 and October 8 stands at 104. The cumulative death toll from both confirmed measles and measles-like symptoms has now reached 1,144 since March 15.
In terms of case numbers, the last 24-hour period saw 1,332 suspected measles cases and 96 confirmed cases. Since March 15, the total reported suspected measles cases have reached 201,625, with 22,116 confirmed cases. During the same period, 178,927 patients with suspected measles were admitted to hospitals, and 171,680 have since been discharged.
