Government Committed to Peace and Development in Chittagong Hill Tracts

Dhaka:Chittagong Hill Tracts: The CHT Affairs Minister, Sa Ching Prue, emphasized the government's dedication to ensuring peace, harmony, and equitable living for all citizens during a meeting with the French Ambassador to Bangladesh, Jean-Marc Séré-Charlet, at the Bangladesh Secretariat.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the minister expressed optimism that the cooperation with the French government in Bangladesh's development will continue in the future. He highlighted the government's focus on strengthening the economy and improving the quality of life for the hill people by protecting the environment, promoting agriculture, eco-tourism, education, health, and increasing employment opportunities.

The minister noted the importance of education, particularly in the hill region, where several projects aim to enhance educational quality through multimedia technology. These efforts are part of a broader initiative to improve living standards.

During the meeting, both Bangladesh and France agreed to collaborate more closely on key issues including eco-tourism, peace and order maintenance, balanced development, education quality improvement, climate change impacts, women's empowerment, safe drinking water, and human rights protection.
