Bagerhat:A preparatory meeting was held at Bagerhat Sadar Upazila Parishad to ensure the peaceful and festive celebration of the upcoming Sharadiya Durga Puja.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting was organized by the Bagerhat Sadar Upazila administration and took place at the Upazila Parishad auditorium, chaired by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Shahnaz Parveen Bithi. During the meeting, UNO Bithi emphasized that Durga Puja is a festival of social harmony and communal unity, beyond its religious significance for the Hindu community.
The administration is committed to maintaining law and order, ensuring uninterrupted power supply, cleanliness, and overall security during the puja, as mentioned by the UNO. She called upon all concerned parties to fulfill their responsibilities sincerely to allow devotees to celebrate the festival in a safe and joyful manner.
Attendees included Upazila Agriculture Officer Tanmoy Dutta, Social Services Officer Sohel Parvez, Education Officer, Fisheries Officer, Officer-in-Charge of Bagerhat Model Police Station, along with heads of various government departments and organizations. Additionally, Bagerhat Sadar Upazila BNP President Syed Nasir Uddin Malek and General Secretary Sheikh Abul Kalam Azad Bulu were present.
The meeting addressed various issues, such as ensuring security at puja mandaps, installing CCTV cameras, deploying Ansar members and volunteers, and providing emergency services during the festival.
