Dhaka:BNP acting Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi claimed that allies of a previous authoritarian regime are attempting to create instability in Bangladesh and disrupt the elected government. He urged the public to stay vigilant against such efforts.
According to United News of Bangladesh, Rizvi made these remarks during a program focused on dengue awareness at the Bangladesh Medical University in Shahbagh. He emphasized that the government led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is committed to maintaining order and will not tolerate any form of anarchy or crime.
Rizvi criticized a recent incident where a notorious criminal escaped from police custody and called for a thorough investigation to identify those responsible. He stressed the importance of a swift and fair inquiry to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Addressing the dengue outbreak, Rizvi advocated for collective preventive measures, urging citizens to maintain cleanliness and eliminate stagnant water to control the disease's spread. He highlighted government initiatives, including the Prime Minister's call for the rapid removal of stagnant water to prevent mosquito breeding.
Furthermore, Rizvi noted that the current government has made dengue testing free, improving public access to essential health services.
