Dinajpur:The death toll from dengue in Rangpur division has increased to nine this year with the passing of a 48-year-old man at Dinajpur Medical College Hospital.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the deceased was identified as Md Harun from Nababganj upazila in Dinajpur district. Rangpur Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Md Wazed Ali confirmed the information.
In the past 24 hours, 64 new dengue patients were admitted to government hospitals across the division. Since the beginning of the year until October 6, a total of 2,936 patients with dengue symptoms have been admitted to hospitals in the region.
Of these patients, nine have died, while 2,720 have recovered and returned home. Currently, 207 patients are receiving treatment in various hospitals throughout the division.
