Khulna:The Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) has committed to implementing extensive security measures to ensure a peaceful and stable environment during the upcoming Durga Puja festival.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, KMP Commissioner Md Sazzadur Rahman provided this assurance during a meeting held at the KMP headquarters. The meeting, which addressed issues such as security, law and order, and traffic management, was convened in anticipation of Durga Puja, a major religious festival for the Hindu community.
Participants in the meeting included leaders from the Puja Udjapan Parishad, Mahanagar Puja Front, and Mahanagar Hindu, Buddhist and Christian Welfare Front, and was chaired by KMP Commissioner Md Sazzadur Rahman. The KMP Commissioner encouraged the leaders of the Puja Udjapan Parishad to ensure continuous security at every puja mandap with the help of their volunteers, in addition to the support from law enforcement.
Md Sazzadur Rahman also advised puja organizers to promptly report any untoward incidents to the KMP control room, National Emergency Service 999, or the officer-in-charge of the nearest police station.
