Dinajpur:Police have apprehended two individuals in connection with an alleged gang-rape in Hakimpur upazila of Dinajpur. The suspects, Ruhul Amin and Shukur Ali, were arrested while a third accused, Ferdous Mia, is still at large.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the incident occurred when the victim visited Ruhul Amin's residence in Palpara village on September 30 to collect a debt. It is alleged that Ruhul Amin, Shukur Ali, and Ferdous Mia confined the victim and assaulted her.
The perpetrators reportedly recorded the assault on a mobile phone and threatened to distribute the footage on social media. The situation came to light when locals discovered the incident and detained Ruhul Amin and Shukur Ali.
Upon receiving information, police arrived at the scene, took the two men into custody, and rescued the victim. A case has been filed based on a complaint by the victim's mother, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the absconding Ferdous Mia.
