Dhaka:Jahangirnagar University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md Nurul Islam extended his heartfelt greetings and respect to all teachers of the university in celebration of World Teachers' Day.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the vice-chancellor emphasized that teaching is more than just a profession; it is a noble mission where educators not only impart knowledge but also help shape the dreams, values, conscience, and humanity of students.
Professor Nurul Islam highlighted how a teacher's words, ideals, encouragement, and guidance can change a student's life and noted that teachers pass the legacy of knowledge, humanity, and enlightened thinking from one generation to the next.
He praised the longstanding contributions of JU teachers to education, research, and the development of human values, acknowledging their talent, dedication, wisdom, and sacrifice in advancing the university's distinctiveness, dignity, and glory.
The vice-chancellor also paid tribute to teachers who have devoted their lives and intellect to education and knowledge practices at Jahangirnagar University, stating their contributions are an inseparable part of the institution's history and heritage.
Professor Nurul Islam expressed his belief that teachers are not just knowledge disseminators but the architects of tomorrow's Bangladesh, envisioning a future where, under their guidance, a knowledge-based, humane, non-communal, ethical, and prosperous nation will emerge.
