Rangamati:Preparations are in full swing for the upcoming Sharadiya Durga Puja in Rangamati, with artisans working tirelessly on idol-making and decorations at various puja mandaps across the district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the festival, which will be observed at 47 mandaps across all ten upazilas of the hill district, is set to begin on October 16 with Sasthi Puja and the rituals of awakening, invitation, and installation of Goddess Durga.
Artisans in Rangamati town are busy putting the final touches on the idols, ensuring everything is ready for the start of the five-day festival. Decoration work is also progressing steadily at different mandaps, with artisans confident of completing everything on time.
Priest Ranbir Chakraborty from the Rangamati Central Kali Temple confirmed that preparations at seven puja mandaps, including the central temple, have been finalized. He noted that the district administration and police have assured organizers of their full support for peaceful celebrations.
Rangamati Superintendent of Police Muhammad Abdur Rakib stated that all necessary preparations have been made, with additional security measures implemented at each mandap to ensure a smooth and peaceful festival.
