Shipping Ministry and Parliamentary Committee Collaborate on ‘Bangladesh First’ Policy

Dhaka:The first meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Shipping of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad was held at the JS Bhaban, chaired by Zainul Abdin Farroque.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting began with an introductory session where committee members were welcomed with flowers on behalf of the Ministry of Shipping. The committee chairman, Zainul Abdin Farroque, highlighted the establishment of democracy in Bangladesh through a fair election after about 16 years and emphasized the joint efforts of the committee and the ministry to implement the 'Bangladesh First' policy declared by the Prime Minister.

Farroque stressed the importance of accountability, integrity, and the prioritization of opinions from all stakeholders in advancing the ministry's activities. He assured full cooperation from all officers, employees, and committee members to support the democratic government established through prolonged efforts and struggle. He also called for mutual cooperation to achieve a prosperous and developed Bangladesh.

The meeting addressed the development of the shipping sector, enhancing service quality, ensuring transparency and accountability, and increasing the dynamism of the ministry's departments, directorates, agencies, and institutions. Detailed information about the ministry's overall activities and its subordinate bodies was presented during the session.

Participants in the meeting included committee members and Minister of the Ministry of Shipping Sheikh Rabiul Alam, State Minister of the Ministry of Shipping Md. Rajib Ahsan, and other members such as Md. Hafiz Ibrahim, Md. Mahmudul Haque Rubel, Anisur Rahman, Saeed Ahmed, Sanjida Yasmin, Md. Nazmul Huda, and Abdul Hannan Masud.
