Border Guard Bangladesh Seizes 3.9 Lakh Yaba Tablets in Teknaf Operation

Teknaf:Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), in collaboration with SRB, has seized 3.90 lakh yaba tablets during a joint operation, apprehending a suspected drug trafficker in the Teknaf border area of Cox's Bazar.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrested individual has been identified as Md Idris, 40, son of the late Abdul Hakim from Deilpara village in Teknaf. The operation was based on intelligence information, leading a joint team from the Teknaf Battalion (2 BGB) and SRB to take strategic positions near the Naf River in the Nazirpara BOP area around 7:30 pm on Sunday.

The team utilized a thermal imager to detect several suspicious individuals approaching from Myanmar. They maintained close surveillance on these individuals.

At approximately 2:30 am, the suspects were observed swimming into Bangladeshi territory with sacks. Upon noticing the presence of law enforcement, the individuals attempted to escape towards a nearby Keora Forest. However, the joint team pursued them and successfully apprehended one person, recovering three large packets containing a total of 390,000 yaba tablets.

Legal procedures are in progress to transfer the detainee and the confiscated yaba tablets to the Teknaf Model Police Station, where a case will be filed.
