President Calls on Chartered Accountants for Integrity and Transparency

Dhaka:During a meeting in Bangabhaban, President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir urged chartered accountants to maintain integrity and professionalism to ensure transparency and accountability in the country's institutional sector.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the President made this appeal when a six-member delegation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB), led by its President Sabbir Ahmed, visited him.

President Mirza Fakhrul emphasized the critical role that chartered accountants and audit professionals play in maintaining financial discipline across public, private, and state-owned organizations. He also highlighted their importance in sustaining investor confidence.

The ICAB delegation briefed the President on the organization's overall activities and extended an invitation for him to attend an international conference in November. The event is to be organized under the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA), where he would participate as the chief guest.

Mirza Fakhrul accepted the invitation and assured the delegation of his attendance at the conference. The meeting was also attended by the President's secretaries and senior officials.
