Rajshahi:A review meeting focusing on the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) and Vaccine-Preventable Disease (VPD) surveillance was convened in Rajshahi city. The primary objective was to assess the current state of EPI and VPD surveillance at the field level in Rajshahi metropolis, under the supervision of both national and international observers.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting took place this afternoon at the Nagar Bhaban meeting room and was chaired by Rezaul Karim, the chief executive officer of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC). Dr. FAM Anjuman Ara Begum, Chief Health Officer of RCC, presented comprehensive details on the health services achievements within the RCC.
The discussions extended to future plans for enhancing health services in Rajshahi metropolis. The meeting was attended by RCC Secretary Sohel Rana, Director of Health Dr. Habibur Rahman, WHO Representative Uka Jiniai, IEDCR Coordinator Syed Billah, WHO Representatives Dr. Sanjib Kumar, Dr. Mainul Ahsan, and Dr. Kamruzzaman.
Also present were UNICEF Health Officer Dr. Bikash Chandra Das, DGHS Dr. Md. Mainul Ahsan, Dr. Ahmed Rashedul Hasan, Dr. Hasanuzzaman, RCC's Dr. Sadia Jafrin, Dr. Ayesha Benazir, and other officials from the health department.
