Dubai:Bangladesh prepared for their upcoming Test against Afghanistan with a two-day match against the United Arab Emirates at the ICC Academy Oval in Dubai, which concluded in a draw.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Bangladesh opted to bat first after winning the toss, posting a total of 234 runs in 78.1 overs. Shadman Islam and Soumya Sarkar provided a strong start with a 108-run opening partnership. Soumya retired after making 57 runs, while Shadman contributed 46 off 95 balls. Mominul Haque added 33 runs, and Naeem Hasan chipped in with 36, as wickets fell at regular intervals. Junaid Siddiqui was the standout bowler for the UAE, claiming three wickets.
In response, the UAE scored 222 runs in 53.5 overs, led by Wasim Muhammad's top score of 69 and Aftab Alam's 56. For Bangladesh, Iqbal Hossain Emon took 4-30, while left-arm spinner Taijul Islam claimed 3-58.
Bangladesh began their second innings with a 12-run advantage, reaching 114-3 in 26.5 overs before the two-day match concluded. Mushfiqur Rahim scored 44 off 53 balls, Shadman added 32, and Mominul contributed 24. The match concluded with Bangladesh holding an overall lead of 126 runs, with both teams agreeing to a draw.
