Dhaka:Awami League leader Sharmin Sultana Sarmi, 44, was arrested by Lalbagh Thana police of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in the Sheikh Saheb Bazar area of Lalbagh.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrest took place last night following a tip-off, as confirmed by a DMP press release.
Sharmin has held various positions, including organizing secretary of the Eden Mohila College unit of the Chhatra League, assistant secretary of the Awami League sub-committee, and organizing secretary of the Jubo Mohila League. After her arrest, she was presented before the court following the completion of legal procedures.
