College Student Fatally Stabbed in Satkhira Over Argument

Satkhira:A college student, Zakaria Khan, was fatally stabbed in front of the Livestock Office intersection in Satkhira district town on Friday night. The incident occurred over a minor dispute.

According to United News of Bangladesh, Zakaria Khan, 19, was the son of Abdul Gafur Khan from the Katia area. A student of Satkhira Government College, he had recently taken the Higher Secondary Certificate examination.

Officer-in-Charge Shahidur Rahman of Sadar Police Station reported that Zakaria was related to Masum Billah, a former general secretary of the Satkhira municipal unit of the BNP. Zakaria was sitting at a tea stall around 1130 pm when a group of individuals began arguing with the tea stall owner. The argument escalated into a scuffle.

Zakaria intervened to protect the tea stall owner and was subsequently stabbed by the miscreants. He was rushed to Satkhira Medical College and Hospital, where he died of his injuries around 1230 am.

Police are currently examining CCTV footage from the vicinity to identify those responsible for the attack.
