Honesty and Efficiency Essential for Grassroots Service Delivery, Says State Minister

Sher-e-Bangla Nagar:State Minister for Public Administration Md. Abdul Bari, MP, emphasized the importance of honesty, transparency, and efficiency among officials for effective implementation of government services and development projects at the grassroots level. He highlighted that these qualities are crucial to bringing dynamism to the administration.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Bari made these remarks as a special guest at a review meeting focused on solar power, dengue prevention, and development programs. The meeting, organized by the Local Government Division, took place at the Multipurpose Hall of the Cooperative Bhaban.

He stated that the government adheres to a 100 percent economical policy to safeguard state resources and promote public welfare. Bari encouraged field administration officials to view their duties as more than just jobs, suggesting that sincere efforts and the proper use of local resources could enhance the quality of life for the general population.

Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan, MP, was the chief guest at the meeting, while State Minister Mir Shahe Alam also attended as a special guest. The meeting outlined guidelines for coordinating solar power and dengue prevention efforts, selecting beneficiaries for priority projects, and resolving civic issues in municipalities.

Bari advised that responsibility for verifying land information under the Farmer Card program should lie with block coordinators from the local agriculture department, with Upazila Nirbahi Officers overseeing implementation. He also called for initiatives to provide technology-based services, such as online civic services, CCTV surveillance in municipal areas to curb crime and drugs, and environmental protection measures.

The State Minister urged officials not to shy away from government work due to fear of propaganda or lawsuits, but to ensure accountability in their actions. He stressed that government offices should remain accessible for the public to voice their concerns and issues.

He concluded that a safe and developed society can be achieved through the combined efforts of officials and citizens under the guidance of the elected democratic government. The meeting was chaired by Local Government Division Secretary Md. Shahidul Hasan, with several high-ranking officials and representatives from various governmental bodies in attendance.
