Dhaka Metropolitan Police Issues Over 4,000 Traffic Violation Cases

Dhaka:The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 4,061 cases against individuals violating traffic laws during recent enforcement operations conducted over two days in various areas of the capital.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the operations took place on Thursday and Friday. Deputy Commissioner of the DMP's Media and Public Relations Division, Md Akter Hossain, stated in a press release that these efforts are part of an ongoing initiative to enhance traffic discipline.

The breakdown of cases is as follows the traffic-Ramna Division filed 210 cases, the traffic-Lalbagh Division 155 cases, the traffic-Motijheel Division 525 cases, the traffic-Wari Division 525 cases, the traffic-Tejgaon Division 213 cases, the traffic-Mirpur Division 440 cases, the traffic-Uttara Division 522 cases, and the traffic-Gulshan Division recorded the highest with 1,471 cases.

Additionally, during these operations, 1,000 vehicles were sent to dumping yards, and 558 vehicles were towed using wreckers. The DMP emphasized that such traffic enforcement drives will continue to ensure compliance with traffic regulations in Dhaka.
