Dhaka:Women and Children Affairs and Social Welfare Minister Prof Dr AZM Zahid Hossain visited his home area to offer medical services to underprivileged individuals. During his visit, he personally examined patients from four upazilas of his constituency, demonstrating his commitment to healthcare.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr Zahid emphasized that alongside his governmental duties, he feels a humanitarian obligation to provide medical care to disadvantaged people. He stated that as a physician, it is his moral responsibility to ensure healthcare for those in need.
Local resident Md. Amzad Ali expressed appreciation for the minister's efforts, noting that despite a busy schedule, Dr Zahid returned to his village to offer treatment and advice. Many others, including women, men, the elderly, and children, have also sought his medical care.
Aloka Murmu, a 67-year-old indigenous woman, shared her experience of receiving help from Dr Zahid. After suffering from fever, cold, and cough for six days, she received a thorough examination and free medicines from the minister. She mentioned a previous instance where his treatment had helped her recover from stomach pain.
