Government Plans Mini Stadiums in Every Upazila to Boost Sports

Dhamrai:Dhaka State Minister for Youth and Sports Md. Aminul Haque announced plans to construct mini stadiums in every upazila as part of a government initiative to promote sports across the country.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the initiative aims to identify new talents from grassroots levels and includes the preparation of 4,599 playgrounds nationwide. Additionally, a modern playground is set to be constructed in Dhamrai.

The announcement was made during the closing ceremony of the 'Arafat Rahman Koko Memorial Football Tournament-2026' held at Valum Ataur Rahman Khan Degree College in Dhamrai. The state minister emphasized the government's commitment to enhancing sports infrastructure to bring about qualitative change in the nation.

Md. Aminul Haque also expressed his intent to make all Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishthan (BKSP) institutions self-sufficient and operate them under specific guidelines.

Other notable attendees included Dhaka North City Corporation administrator Md. Safiqul Islam Khan, Member of Parliament Tamiz Uddin, with Dhaka Zila Parishad administrator Yasin Ferdous Murad presiding over the event.
