Land Minister Condemns Attacks on Rajshahi Railway Station

Rajshahi:Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu, MP, denounced those involved in the recent vandalism at Rajshahi Railway Station, labeling them as 'enemies of Rajshahi and the state,' and vowed that they would face swift justice.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Land Minister emphasized the symbolic importance of the railway station, stating that its destruction was an affront to the dignity and heritage of Rajshahi's people.

He also criticized the torture of students at Rajshahi University and condemned the violence perpetrated by forces of the then government during the anti-discrimination student movement. The remarks came during his visit to the vandalized areas of the station alongside party leaders and activists.

The minister revealed that an investigation committee has been established to examine the acts of vandalism and sabotage. He assured that those responsible would be identified and face strict legal consequences based on the committee's recommendations.

Among those present during the inspection were Advocate Shafiqul Haque Milon, MP, Rajshahi City Corporation Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton, former Rajshahi Metropolitan BNP convener, Rajshahi Zila Parishad Administrator Advocate Ershad Ali Isha, and RDA Chairman Abul Kalam Azad Sweet.
