Lalmonirhat:A gentle chill is beginning to sweep across Lalmonirhat, heralding the arrival of winter as early-morning mist, cool breezes, and dew-laden grass and paddy leaves create a refreshing seasonal charm.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Rajarhat weather observation centre in neighbouring Kurigram reported that the morning temperature was around 28 degrees Celsius today. Residents have started noticing signs of mist during the latter part of the night over the past few days.
Bablur Mia, a resident of the municipal area, stated that whenever he wakes up early in the morning, he feels a slight chill in the air, suggesting that winter is slowly approaching. Afsar Ali, a farmer from Barabari union, mentioned that while winter had not yet arrived, the morning mist and cool nights were clear indicators that colder days were drawing closer.
Lalmonirhat Superintendent of Police Md Asaduzzaman noted that the light morning mist accompanied by cool winds was gradually creating a wintry atmosphere. Deputy Commissioner Md Rashedul Haque Pradhan added that Lalmonirhat, being relatively close to the Himalayan mountain range, often experiences signs of winter earlier than many other parts of the country. He assured that preparations would be made to provide warm clothes to those affected if the intensity of winter increases.
The cool night air and serene morning mist now seem to quietly signal that winter is approaching, bringing with it a veil of fog and beads of dew.
