Dhaka Police Arrest 439 in 24-Hour Anti-Crime Operation

Dhaka:A total of 439 people were arrested in the past 24 hours as part of regular anti-crime operations conducted by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) across the capital.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, 31 cases were filed during the same period. The highest number of arrests was reported by the Mirpur division, with 96 people detained, followed by Tejgaon with 79, Lalbagh with 57, Motijheel with 55, Uttara with 38, Wari with 37, Ramna and Gulshan with 28 each, and the Detective Branch with 20.

Additionally, one person was arrested in an operation by the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit. The operations resulted in the seizure of 152.15 kilograms of cannabis, 7,028 yaba tablets, and 175 grams of heroin.

Beyond drug seizures, law enforcement recovered 13 mobile phones, a motorcycle, a microbus, a private car, one knife, one ramda, one machete, and two Swiss gear knives. The arrests and seizures were made during raids conducted in different areas under various police stations in the capital. Legal proceedings against the arrested individuals are currently underway.
