Bhola:The government has unveiled plans to construct one stadium in each upazila and a playground in every union across the country. This initiative aims to promote sports and reduce children's screen time, ultimately fostering a drug-free society.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, State Minister for Youth and Sports Md Aminul Haque announced this plan while speaking as the chief guest at the opening of a freelancing and artificial intelligence training program by the Department of Youth Development at the Bhola District Shilpakala Academy.

The minister emphasized the importance of sports in achieving these goals and stated that deputy commissioners and upazila nirbahi officers have been instructed to implement the plan. These new facilities are intended to offer the next generation opportunities for healthy development through sports. Additionally, the government is recognizing athletes by providing sports allowances and sports cards.

Under the 'Notun Kuri Sports' initiative, the government is identifying talented grassroots-level athletes and enrolling them in the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP) for comprehensive training, covering all related expenses. The focus is on nurturing individuals in sports such as football, cricket, volleyball, and swimming to develop them into national-level athletes.

The event was attended by Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Md. Mahbub-ul-Alam, Joint Secretary Sheikh Md. Zobaid Hossain, Bhola District Council Administrator Golam Nabi Alamgir, and Superintendent of Police Md. Shahidullah Kawsar, with Bhola Deputy Commissioner Dr. Shamim Rahman presiding.

In recognition of their achievements, 18 successful freelancers were presented with laptops and smartphones at the conclusion of the program.
