Dublin:Bangladesh has formally opened its embassy in Ireland, establishing a platform to enhance bilateral relations and engage with the estimated 25,000 Bangladeshi nationals residing in the country.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the embassy has begun its administrative functions from a temporary location at Alexandra House in Dublin's diplomatic district, Balls Bridge. Ambassador-designate Mohammed Nore Alam has taken charge of the mission and is expected to present his credentials to the President of Ireland in due course.
This development marks a significant milestone in Bangladesh-Ireland relations, with the embassy expected to boost diplomatic engagement and cooperation in areas of mutual interest. Additionally, the mission will focus on strengthening ties with the Bangladeshi community in Ireland.
Consular services, including passport and visa processing, will be introduced once arrangements are finalized. These services will be available to Bangladeshi nationals and other eligible applicants. Details about the commencement of consular services will be communicated through official channels.
Bangladesh anticipates that the establishment of a resident embassy will further deepen its friendly and mutually beneficial relations with Ireland.
