Dhaka:The Detective Branch of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police has arrested Major (retd) General Golam Mohiuddin Chowdhury in connection with the attack on New Gini Properties in the ECB Chattar area of the capital.

According to United News of Bangladesh, Golam Mohiuddin was listed as an accused in the case, as stated by Deputy Commissioner (Media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Akhtar Hossain. The police have not disclosed the time or location of the arrest.

Earlier, police apprehended Shahrier, identified as the suspected mastermind behind the attack and vandalism, at content creator Salman Muqtadir's Brownfish Studio and the adjoining land in ECB Chattar. The attack reportedly arose from a dispute between New Gini Properties Limited, the landowner where the studio is situated, and other local landowners.

The Cantonment Police Station Officer-in-Charge, Mohammad Gias Uddin, noted that Salman Muqtadir had rented a floor from New Gini Properties for his studio. The studio suffered damage during the attack, with Salman alleging that a group of people arrived in two trucks and carried out the assault late Saturday night.

In a live broadcast from the Brownfish Studio Facebook page, Salman stated that the studio was completely destroyed. He suggested that the primary target of the attackers might have been the property owner, who had allegedly refused to pay extortion money. OC Gias Uddin added that New Gini Properties had installed a gate on the land, limiting access for others.
