Measles Death Toll in Country Reaches 1,108

Dhaka:Four children have died with symptoms resembling measles in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of confirmed and suspected measles-related deaths to 1,108 this year.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported that these latest fatalities are classified as suspected measles deaths. This has increased the suspected measles death count to 1,007, while the number of confirmed measles deaths remains at 101.

During the same 24-hour period, 1,221 new suspected measles cases were reported, bringing the total number of suspected cases nationwide to 191,731. Additionally, 128 new confirmed measles cases were recorded, increasing the total number of laboratory-confirmed infections to 21,520.

Since March 15, a total of 169,800 patients with suspected measles have been hospitalized across the country, with 162,873 having recovered, as per DGHS data.
