Police Detain 379 Youths in Cumilla Anti-Gang Operation

Cumilla:Police detained 379 youths in a recent operation targeting teen gangs and unruly youths across the Cumilla district on Tuesday night.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the operation was conducted simultaneously at all 18 police stations in the district from 7 p.m. until midnight. The operation was led by Superintendent of Police Md Anisuzzaman, with participation from local police stations, various units of the district police, and the Detective Branch (DB).

This latest operation brings the total number of youths detained to 1,672 over four phases of anti-teen gang operations in the district. Additional Superintendent of Police Lutfar Rahman stated that the police are currently verifying whether the 379 individuals detained were involved in any criminal activities. Legal action will be pursued against those found to have engaged in criminal activities following the verification process.
