Mirpur:Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has pledged a Tk 50 lakh donation towards the re-establishment of the Radda MCH-FP Centre in Mirpur after it was damaged in an attack involving 200-250 people at midnight on Thursday.
According to United News of Bangladesh, Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer and Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, announced the donation during a visit to the damaged health centre in Mirpur-1 on Monday afternoon.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman emphasized the party's commitment to supporting health services in the area, stating that the donation marks the beginning of their assistance. He assured further help would be provided if necessary to ensure adequate healthcare services for the local population.
Expressing his concern over the incident, Dr. Rahman accused the ruling party of providing shelter and patronage to those who committed the attack. He called for the perpetrators to be brought to justice.
He also voiced concerns over the overall deterioration of law and order in the country, urging the government to take immediate action to prevent further antisocial or criminal activities. Dr. Rahman alleged that mob violence was occurring nationwide with the ruling party's support and called for legal action against those involved in the Radda incident, urging authorities to take steps to reopen the health centre.
