Dhaka:Bangladesh Missions abroad are currently facing significant delays in visa processing due to technical issues with the Department of Immigration and Passports' (DIP) central system.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the Machine Readable Visa (MRV) server, responsible for processing visa applications, is unavailable. This has affected all Bangladesh Missions abroad, causing delays in processing No Visa Required (NVR) certificates and visa applications.
A visa applicant from a European country reported difficulties proceeding with his application, citing a lack of response and confirmation emails that are typically expected within 24 hours of submission.
Efforts are underway to resolve these technical issues and restore the system as quickly as possible. The government has urged applicants to allow additional time for processing and to refrain from making repeated status inquiries.
The Embassy of Bangladesh in Berlin issued an urgent notice expressing regret for the inconvenience and thanked applicants for their patience and cooperation. Similarly, the Embassy in Bangkok informed applicants of potential difficulties with visa services and advised against making urgent travel plans dependent on immediate visa processing.
Applicants will be notified through the Missions' websites and Facebook pages once normal services resume.
