Bihar: Legendary folk singer Sharda Sinha's Chhath song "Pahile Pahil Hum Kayin" has deeply resonated with audiences after its inclusion in the film "Vvaan: Forest of the Forrest," starring Tamannaah Bhatia.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the film, released on September 25, features a scene with Sinha's song that captures the essence of the Chhath festival, a significant cultural event for people in Bihar, Jharkhand, and eastern Uttar Pradesh. Although the film has received mixed reviews, the Chhath sequence has been widely praised.

The song's inclusion surprised many viewers as social media users had initially suggested that a Bhojpuri version might have been more fitting. However, the filmmakers chose to keep Sinha's original song, which added to the film's emotional impact.

The scene, directed by Arunabh Kumar and Deepak Kumar Mishra, shows actors Shweta Tiwari and Anup Soni preparing for the Chhath festival. It prompted emotional responses on social media, with users describing the song as a "goosebump moment" and a "magical quality" that invokes nostalgia and cultural pride.

Sharda Sinha, celebrated as the "Voice of Chhath" and "Bihar's Kokila," was known for her contributions to Hindi, Maithili, Magahi, and Bhojpuri music. Her Chhath songs, especially "Pahile Pahil Hum Kayin," remain integral to the festival's celebrations. Sinha was honored with the Padma Shri in 1991 and the Padma Bhushan in 2018.

Despite her passing in November 2024, Sinha's music continues to be a cherished part of Chhath celebrations, leaving a lasting legacy in the hearts of her fans.
