Rajshahi:The half-yearly judicial conference of the Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court took place with a focus on the speedy disposal of cases, ensuring the presence of witnesses, and the preservation and destruction of evidence in Rajshahi.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, discussions at the conference also addressed post-mortem, viscera, and injury reports, as well as cases pending investigation for more than a year. Additional topics included the security of court premises, electricity management, and maintaining cleanliness.
Presided over by Senior District and Sessions Judge Imdadul Haque, the conference saw participation from key judicial figures. Judge Ashrafunnahar Rita conducted the program, while Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ataullah and Judge Zahid Hasan presented keynote papers on behalf of their respective courts.
In his presentation, Zahid Hasan highlighted the metropolitan court's case disposal rate of around 130 percent over the past eight months despite a shortage of supporting staff. The conference emphasized that police and narcotics control officials would implement measures to expedite judicial proceedings.
Attendees included Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Masudul Haque and various judges, police officers, and representatives from relevant departments, underscoring the collaborative effort to enhance judicial efficiency in Rajshahi.
