Cox's Bazar:State Minister for LGRD and Co-operatives Mir Shahe Alam emphasized that Cox's Bazar is a unique destination with rich heritage and identity.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the minister announced the government's initiative to transform Cox's Bazar Municipality into a city corporation, aiming to elevate it to an international-standard tourist destination.
During his visit to the integrated waste management project at Rohingya Camp-2 in Ukhiya, funded by the World Bank, Shahe Alam inspected the project's various activities. He described the waste management center as a modern, environmentally friendly initiative and outlined plans to increase fertiliser and electricity production from daily waste.
The visit was attended by Cox's Bazar-3 constituency lawmaker Lutfur Rahman Kajal, Chattogram-14 constituency lawmaker Jasim Uddin Ahmed, and senior officials from the ministry, local administration, and project authorities.
