Cumilla:A fisherman tragically lost his life after being bitten by a venomous snake while retrieving fish from a net in a canal in Debidwar upazila.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the incident occurred early Thursday when Moslem Uddin Khan, 58, from Bhoisherkut village, Mohanpur Union, went to collect his fishing net around 3:00 a.m. He accidentally grabbed a snake, mistaking it for a fish, resulting in a fatal bite.
Family members reported that Moslem was initially taken to Chandina Upazila Health Complex. However, as his condition deteriorated, he was transferred to Cumilla Medical College Hospital. Unfortunately, he passed away around 7:00 a.m. before receiving antivenom treatment.
