Dhaka:Bangladesh Bank has instructed scheduled banks to keep their Hajj-related branches open this Friday and Saturday to facilitate the collection of registration fees for Hajj 2027.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the branches will operate during regular banking hours as per a circular issued by the central bank. The circular, signed by Md Abdul Mannan, director of the Supervisory Data Management and Analytics Department, outlines this directive.
In addition, banks are instructed to continue receiving Hajj registration fees beyond regular hours as long as depositors are present, while ensuring adequate security. This decision follows a request from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, dated September 20, to ease the registration fee submission process for prospective pilgrims.
