Bhulta:Battery-run rickshaws are increasingly operating on the Bhulta Flyover in Rupganj of Narayanganj, raising concerns about their unregulated and unsafe movement on busy roads.
According to United News of Bangladesh, these vehicles have become a common sight on the flyover, where their presence is associated with traffic-rule violations and reckless driving, as reported by local commuters.
Commuters have expressed that the presence of battery-powered rickshaws on the flyover poses an additional risk of collisions, as these vehicles move at much slower speeds than other traffic.
The growing number of these rickshaws, coupled with their lack of adherence to traffic rules, is already a safety concern on roads. Their operation on flyovers and other busy routes could heighten the risk of serious accidents.
Residents urge authorities to implement effective measures to regulate the movement of these rickshaws and ensure compliance with traffic rules to prevent accidents and maintain safer traffic flow.
