Dhaka:The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) has approved two significant procurement proposals for infrastructure development with a total cost of approximately Tk 3,748 crore.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the first proposal involves a contract of Tk 118.33 crore for the emergency rehabilitation and reconstruction of roads, bridges, and culverts in Sunamganj and Habiganj. These structures were damaged in the 2022 floods, and the project aims to restore the affected infrastructure.
Additionally, the CCGP recommended approval of an infrastructure package valued at Tk 3,629.96 crore for the 'Supporting Infrastructure Project for Chinese Economic and Industrial Zone'. This project is being implemented by Invest Bangladesh, with China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) identified as the successful bidder. The proposal was submitted by the Prime Minister's Office.
The committee has recommended the approval of both procurement proposals, which are intended to enhance the region's infrastructure and support economic activities.
