Dhaka: State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir today assured all-out government support to Jahangirnagar University (JU) in its efforts to develop the institution into an ideal higher education institution. The state minister gave the assurance when he paid a courtesy visit to JU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan at his office here this afternoon, said a press release.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during the meeting, Humaiun Kobir expressed interest in learning about the university's education and research activities as well as its vision and mission. The vice-chancellor thanked the state minister for his interest and briefed him on the university's education, research, physical infrastructure and the vision and mission of the current administration.
The state minister assured that the government would extend all kinds of support to help JU move forward with the goal of building it into an ideal higher education institution. JU Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Prof Dr Mohammad Nazrul Islam and Senate member Sabina Yasmin, among others, were present.
