Nilphamari: Special Response Battalion (SRB) has seized 15 Yaba tablets and 7.6 kg of ganja and arrested four persons during two separate drives in Nilphamari and Gaibandha districts. SRB-13's Senior Assistant Director (Media) and Additional Superintendent of Police Biplab Kumar Goswami confirmed the information today in a press release.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, acting on a tip-off, an SRB-13 team seized 15 Yaba tablets and arrested Mintu Das, 28, of village Bara Songolshi and Md Shahinuzzaman, 25, of village Sabuzpara, both under Sadar Police Station in Nilphamari district, at 4:30 pm Friday.
On the same day, another SRB-13 team arrested Motaleb Islam alias Hridoy Khan, 33, of village Ramchandrapur and Mazharul Islam alias Shiku Mondal, 34, of village Bhatpara Gopalpur, under Sadar Police Station in Gaibandha, with 7.6 kg of ganja in Gaibandha town at 4:45 pm.
After filing two separate cases over the incidents, the elite force handed over the arrested persons and seized drugs to the respective police stations for further legal action.
