Nationwide Training Begins for Police Personnel on Election Duties

Dhaka: A two-day training programme for police personnel assigned to election duties in the upcoming local government elections began simultaneously across the country today. The training is aimed at strengthening the skills, preparedness, and professional capabilities of police personnel to ensure they can effectively discharge their responsibilities during the elections.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md Ali Hossain Fakir formally inaugurated the training programme at the Police Headquarters' Hall of Integrity this morning. Senior police officials were also present at the inaugural ceremony.

The training is being conducted simultaneously at 114 venues across the country for 38,847 police personnel who have not previously received election-related training. A total of 4,965 personnel are participating in the first batch.

Earlier, 152,175 police personnel received election-related training ahead of the 13th parliamentary election. They will now undergo a one-day refresher course to update and reinforce their knowledge and skills ahead of the upcoming local government elections.
