Health Officials Report 1,753 Fresh Cases of Dengue Infection, 7 Deaths Overnight

Dhaka: Health officials today said they recorded 1,753 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts killing at least seven persons in the past 24 hours.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, of the 1,753 cases, 186 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 177 in Chattogram division, 394 in Dhaka division, 174 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 175 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 349 in Khulna division, 83 in Mymensingh division, 153 in Rajshahi division, 53 in Rangpur division, and nine in Sylhet division, as stated by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Since the start of the dengue onslaughts, Bangladesh has witnessed 171 deaths with the disease inflicting 56,916 individuals this year. Last year, dengue claimed 413 lives and inflicted 102,861 people in the country. Additionally, the dengue outbreak in 2024 resulted in 575 deaths and 101,214 cases.
