Dhaka: With the prompt initiative of the government, gas supply to the national grid has increased to 2,606 million cubic feet (mmcfd) per day.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, an official of Bangladesh Oil, Gas and Mineral Resources Corporation (Petrobangla) stated that the government has been working uninterruptedly to maintain the country's energy supply. Petrobangla is engaged in maintaining a smooth gas supply, and experts have been deployed to oversee the imports of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).
The official noted that the gas availability in the country has shown positive improvement compared to previous days. Petrobangla Director (Operation and Mines, Additional Charge) Engineer Md. Shoyeb informed BSS that 2,606 mmcfd of gas was supplied to the national grid at 4pm on Tuesday.
According to Petrobangla data, of the total gas supply, 1,615 mmcfd is sourced domestically, while 991 mmcfd is obtained from floating regasification units installed in the sea. Shoyeb added that the gas supply is being managed by coordinating domestic production with imported LNG to enhance the supply to the national grid.
