Dhaka: Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Houssain Kaikobad today urged all involved parties to ensure seamless Hajj operations, emphasizing the importance of preventing any form of maltreatment towards pilgrims. He instructed ministry officials to extend all necessary aid and ensure that private Hajj agencies diligently fulfill their duties in serving the pilgrims.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Kaikobad made these remarks while presiding over a meeting at the Bangladesh Secretariat. The meeting focused on various tasks, including the allocation of Hajj pilgrim quotas among 30 alliances and lead agencies participating in the 2027 Hajj operations.
The minister stressed the need for private Hajj agencies to meticulously carry out their responsibilities, ensuring that no pilgrim experiences any suffering or difficulty. He advised against blame-shifting in the event of any mistakes or shortcomings, urging a collective focus on resolving issues swiftly and moving forward.
Kaikobad highlighted the necessity of coordinated efforts between government and private-sector management, insisting that all Hajj operations adhere to Saudi Arabian regulations. He warned of strict action against any unnecessary bureaucratic hurdles or harassment faced by pilgrims.
He pointed out that the majority of the registered Hajj quota for 2027 will be managed by private Hajj agencies, and thus, called for complete cooperation from concerned officials to facilitate the agencies' work effectively. He also sought collective support and prayers for the successful execution of the Hajj operations.
State Minister for Religious Affairs Mohammad Shamim Kaiser mentioned that, according to the preliminary allocation determined by the Saudi government, Bangladesh's Hajj quota currently stands at 78,500 pilgrims. Senior officials of the ministry were present during the meeting.
